CITY OF TORONTO
Engineering Construction Services (ECS), Local Roads
At the City of Toronto, we design roads with a mission to save lives and create safer streets for everyone—whether they’re older adults, children, cyclists, or pedestrians. Every project prioritizes the well-being of all road users, aiming to reduce accidents and promote accessible, efficient transportation. Our work aligns with the principles of the Vision Zero Road Safety Plan, a citywide initiative that uses data-driven, targeted strategies to address high-risk areas and protect the most vulnerable. While construction can cause traffic slowdowns, these short-term challenges are necessary steps toward a future where traffic-related fatalities and serious injuries are not just reduced but eliminated. Building safer, more inclusive streets is how we ensure life moves forward, with care and consideration for all.

This project was initiated in response to resident reports of poor drainage and flooding during storms. With the roadway also reaching the end of its service life, full reconstruction is required.
Prompted by community concerns over road safety and deteriorating pavement, this project addresses both safety improvements and full roadway reconstruction.

I prepared 25 detailed sheets illustrating bike lane installations and related sidewalk and driveway modifications. These materials supported both Councillor and public consultations.
Saves hundreds of hours of coworkers asking the same technical questions over and over (but this is also for my own notes)
A busy community intersection near a school and park, redesigned with curb extensions to improve pedestrian safety, visibility, and traffic calming.

I developed a VBA macro to automate the preparation and distribution of DIN utility notification letters, replacing a manual process of drafting 300 emails annually.
Developing a VBA macro to automate utility mapping in InRoads SS2/SS4 using CADD data from utility providers. The tool aims to auto-label and map utilities, reducing the hundreds of hours spent on manual drafting.
Developing a VBA macro to automate utility labeling in InRoads SS2/SS4, targeting major reductions in drafting time. The tool will deliver faster, more consistent labeling and free up hundreds of hours for higher-value design work.
