Terms & Conditions
Last updated October 11, 2026
These terms apply to your use of justenlau.com (the “Website”), run by me, Justen Lauan (“I”, “me”). By using the Website you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.
1. What the Website is
The Website is a personal site about my races, my road design work at the City of Toronto, the products I am building and my life. It does not sell anything and has no user accounts.
2. Ownership of content
Unless stated otherwise, the writing, photos and videos on the Website are mine. You may share links to any page and quote short passages with credit. Please ask me before reusing anything else.
Drawings, plans and images from City of Toronto projects remain the property of the City of Toronto and are shown as a record of my work. Images from Mella Paint belong to Mella Paint. Other names, logos and software interfaces shown on the Website belong to their owners and do not imply any endorsement.
3. Acceptable use
Do not use the Website in a way that breaks the law, harms the Website or its visitors, or tries to get into parts of it that are not public. I may block access from anyone who does.
4. Other websites and my ventures
The Website links to sites I do not control, such as Behance and Notion. I am not responsible for their content or practices.
The ventures shown on the Website, such as Mella Paint, are separate products or businesses. Where one has its own website, that site’s terms apply to it. Descriptions of ventures that have not launched describe what I plan to build, not a product you can rely on today.
5. No warranty
The Website is provided “as is” and “as available”. I do my best to keep it accurate and online, but I do not promise that it will be error-free, uninterrupted or current. See the Disclaimer for more.
6. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from your use of the Website, including lost profits or lost data. My total liability to you for anything related to the Website will not exceed CAD 100. Some places do not allow these limits, so they apply only as far as the law allows.
7. Privacy
How I handle personal information is described in the Privacy & Cookies Policy.
8. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If you have a concern, please email me first so we can try to sort it out. If we cannot, the courts of Toronto, Ontario will decide it.
9. General
If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If I do not enforce a term, I have not given up the right to enforce it later.
10. Changes
I may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the Website after a change means you accept the updated terms.
